Frequently Asked Questions.

Having everything checked during your service, including filters and oils, will cost around £100. The servicing process includes blade removal and sharpening, cleaning the lawn tractor including the fuel tank, replacing the spark plug and starter cord, checking the lubrication and refilling the engine oil.

It is definitely worth getting your lawn tractor serviced, as this can save you money in the long-run. This is because, during a service, any faults with your lawn tractor will be found and fixed, even before they become noticeable.

It is recommended to have your ride-on mower serviced every 12 months, at least, but this will largely depend on how often the mower is used. For example, if you use the mower for your job, then you should have it serviced more regularly.

You should also get your ride-on mower thoroughly cleaned out regularly too, and your blade needs sharpening to keep the performance as it should be. For more information, please get in touch with us today.

The oil in a ride-on lawn mower should be changed every 50 hours, or at least every summer, depending on which comes first. You should ensure that this process is done, as it will prolong the life span of your mower.

To change the oil, you need to warm up your engine for about a minute, then turn the engine off and disconnect it. Next, you need to drain the oil, replace the oil filter, and then you can refill the engine oil.

As long as you regularly get your lawn mower serviced, and keep maintaining it as often as you can, then it should last a long time. However, lawn mowers usually last up to 10 years.

If your lawn mower keeps cutting out or keeps needing repairs, before ten years, then you will need to get a replacement. For more information, please contact us today.

The spark plugs provide the power to your lawn mower. If your lawn mower won't start, then it is most likely that you have a problem with your spark plug. Spark plugs are relatively cheap to repair and replace.

There are three times you should change, or at least check, your spark plug in your lawn mower. These times include after it has been used for 25 hours, once every season or if your lawn mower won't start.

There are many different signs to indicate that your lawn mower engine has blown. For example:

  • The coolant in the engine oil
  • If there is a hole in the engine block
  • If the piston is blown
  • If your engine won't start
  • If the rod is blown
  • If you can hear rattling
  • If the exhaust is white
  • If you can see blue smoke

If your lawn mower has any of these symptoms, then please give us a call today.
